A Little About Us

This event was started in 2011 for two reasons:

1. to bring the thrill of professional KCBS BBQ to Central Illinois; and

2. to raise money for a very worthy local charity, The Illinois CancerCare Foundation.

Since then the event has grown exponentially each year. This growth can be attributed to the hard work of our organizational committee and our volunteers also the support of our great community! In 2017 our event is moving to Festival Park at the Peoria Riverfront, and we are so excited about the potential growth opportunities! Our event features the following: A KCBS professional BBQ competition featuring some of the countries best touring teams. A backyard competition for local BBQ enthusiasts to show off their skills. 2 days of amazing local bands on our entertainment stage. Several top notch food vendors featuring BBQ, pizza, burgers, popcorn and much more. Several kids activities including; Inflatables, face painting, and much more! There is something for everyone in the family.

All proceeds from our event go to the Illinois CancerCare Foundation. This local charity funds clinical trials and research right her in Central Illinois. They have 100+ clinical trials at any given time. All money donated stays local and is used on the patients or for research. To date we have donated over $70,000.00 to the Illinois CancerCare Foundation. We hope to keep increasing that number each year!
